The economy of LJK is predominantly reliant on agriculture, with nearly 70% of the population engaged in agriculture and allied occupations. A plethora of weather conditions and varied soils, allows for cultivating an array of crops all round the year. The untapped potential in food processing, coupled with the formation of Cooperatives and FPOs, will not only modernize the agricultural supply chain but also generate a multitude of employment avenues. Now the various projects under the HADP aimed at doubling farmers' income and the sector's contribution to the GSDP in the next five years, will be a game-changer, unlocking numerous opportunities for the region's dynamic youth. The ongoing changes in agricultural policies and investments in primary infrastructure will further bolster the growth of this sector, transforming it into a major driver of economic development in the region.
