InnoLEAD - Startup Master Class

9^th & 10^th June, 2023

Recognizing the pivotal role startups are playing in shaping economies, youth worldwide are driving innovation through entrepreneurial ventures. In line with accelerating startup development in LJK, LEAD organized the 'InnoLEAD Startup Masterclass' on LEAD on the 9^th and 10^th of June 2023, bringing together startups, aspiring entrepreneurs and key stakeholders. The event's unique format provided entrepreneurs with a platform to engage directly with the industry, refining their business plans in workshop and masterclass set against the backdrop of a vibrant offsite.

The distinguished lineup of speakers included industry stalwarts like Mr Abhinash Manghani the CEO of ITC Welcom Heritage. He has a distinguished career in Tourism and Hospitality sector. His insights on sales, marketing and brand management related roles of a CEO provided valuable perspectives for participants. Similarly, Mr. Pravin Rajpal, the Founder Director of World Innovation Network who has an extensive experience with global innovation institutes and acclaimed speaker on Open Innovation and Edtech. Mr. Dinesh Prasad, another keynote speaker at the event is the Co-Founder & Director of Navars Edutech, formerly the head of Qualcomm India & South Asia, Dinesh's passion for space and his expertise in the field makes him an invaluable contributor to the event. Professor B. S. Sahay, Director of IIM Jammu, delivered a keynote address that highlighted the immense potential within the J&K region. His words set the tone for an enriching Masterclass, emphasizing the role of education in fostering economic development. The event further delved into specific sectors with Dr. JP Sharma, Former Vice-Chancellor of SKUAST-Jammu, offering enlightening insights into agriculture and technology for livelihood promotion in J&K. Ridhima Arora, Founder of Namhya Foods, shared her inspiring startup journey, underlining the power of direct-to-consumer e-commerce.

A stimulating panel discussion, "Voice of Jammu's Entrepreneurs," featuring Varsha Bansal, Aagam Jain, and Vikrant Dogra, brought forth real experiences, challenges, and successes. Mr. Pratik Bose, an esteemed investor, provided crucial insights into the investor's perspective, guiding participants on refining their business strategies and attracting investments.

During the event, MoUs were signed between LEAD and The Indian Institue of Management (IIM) Jammu and another with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu. LEAD joined hands with both the institutions to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development in Jammu & Kashmir. The goals of MoU revolve around fostering innovation, promoting collaboration, and facilitating the exchange of knowledge between IIM Jammu & IIT Jammu with LEAD. By conducting joint activities, research projects, and technology transfers, the organizations seek to strengthen institutional knowledge and bridge the gap between academia and industry.

The InnoLEAD Startup Masterclass not only inspired but equipped entrepreneurs with tools and knowledge essential to navigate the competitive startup landscape. With engaging sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities, the event aimed to create a vibrant and supportive entrepreneurial ecosystem in J&K, leaving a lasting impact on the region's startup journey.
